Selma Jewelry was established in 1971 by William Godwin and Al Stewart. It is now owned and operated by Al's daughter, Kim Wooten. In April of 2013, Kim dreamed up "Logan's Corner." This was supposed to be a way to draw in customers during the slower season, but it has turned into so much more.
In 2019, "Logan's Corner" was renamed to "Black Onyx Boutique." Kim's daughter, Logan, made this name change to rebrand "the corner" into a small boutique of its own. The name comes from the jewelry background of this family, and the emphasis on "black onyx" in the shared use of the stone in Logan's class ring from her alma mater, Campbell University, and her Papa Al's black onyx ring that he wore daily.
